You probably know there are many things you and your partner can do to ensure you have a healthy pregnancy. But did you know you can do so many of them before you actually get pregnant?
Be sure to get a preconception checkup. I wish I can say I was organized enough to have done this myself, but, you know, I wasn’t. Basically, the reason this is so important is because it ensures that you’re as healthy as possible to start growing your baby. Your doctor can also make sure your vaccinations are up to date and that any medications you’re taking are safe for the little one.
You could also consider telling the cabin crew that you are nervous about flying – many are trained to deal with this and can
reassure you about strange sounds and other unexpected things that might make you anxious.
With other methods, such as the contraceptive pill and contraceptive injections, it can sometimes take a little time for your cycles to return to normal after stopping taking the contraception. You may therefore want to come off the pill a couple of months before you wish to start trying for a baby.
